Post subject:  25 hp Kohler engine Knocks
Hello all, I'm fairly new to mud motor scene. I can tell ya i'm hooked. My 25hp kohler LT has developed a knock at WOT, only when boat is loaded with another hunter and gear. Has anyone ever dealt with this. It dosen't do it with just me in the boat . Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You sure its not spark knock? You should switch to premium fuel and see what it does. My 30 Kohler spark knocks a little even with premium fuel. It was terrible with regular fuel!

The Knock sounds more mechanical to me. Sounds like someone hitting the engine block with a hammer every couple of seconds. I can ease up on the throttle and it goes away. I will try the premium gas though just to see...... 8-)

that engine runs best on jet fuel. try it and let us know how it works out

Thanks everyone for the tips...Seemed the premium gas helped. Was worried there for awhile.
