Im building a 23 hp mud motor. can i get some help please
im building a vanguard 23 hp longtail. can anyone tell me the OD on the drive shaft that they are using on their stock go-devil or mudbuddy longtail. Also the OD and ID (outer and inner diameter) of the tube the drive shaft is in. my design is more like the go-devil. if someone that owns one can give me some dimensions i would grately appreciate it. what im really concerned on is getting the balance right. i dont want to have to be pushing up or down on the tiller all day long if i mount the engine too far from the pivot point. know what i mean. if any one can please post some detailed pictures of their longtails i would greatly appreciate it. or send some dimensions please.
wish i lived up north, down here in florida their aint too many mud motor folk.

My Mud buddy Long tail is 16hp Van.
From the front of the motor to the pivot or tilt bolt center is 15" long
The shaft is 70". Im sure on the dia? I think its 1" OSD on the inside shaft.
Hope that helps?
I live in Eastern Canada. Not many guys running mud motors here either. I feel for ya.

i dont know what part of florida you're in, but sayin there aint too many mud motor folk down here is a total misstatement, go to lake jackson in tallahassee during duck season, its a MM expo there every day! talk to lamarr cox in melbourne his company is "central florida mudmotor" look him up on google, he builds short and longtails, as well as airboats, and he deals mudbuddy, go devil, and copperhead. he'll tell you everything you need to know

buy a kit if you have a 23 motor. if you are going to buy the 23 motor also you would be better off ggetting a whole motor.

Rummy im in miramar. its farther down. im in south florida im about 3 to four hours away from them. thanks alot though im gunna look up lamar cox. i have found somethings out and i cant afford to buy the mud buddy kit. its 1500 +300 shipping. i spent a grand on my engine. that wouldnt be worth it. i already have a list of parts all consisting of the best quality and it only totals up to about 250 then shipping and handling. so i will end up saving alot more money this way. thanks for the dimensions from the engine to the pivot point.
i found someone down here locally that has a godevil im going to go by his house later and get down all the dimensions i can.
oh and i forgot to add a u joint the one im getting is about 100 shipped pretty expensive but still overall savings are about a thousand and a couple hundred.
