2006 GD on an 1848 GD boat w/ a 2 blade prop. Motor has about 300 hours.
RPMs are about 3300 at full throttle. Trimed up and down with no positive results.

Motor seemed to be idling low (to me anyway) at about 700-800.

Didn't get any GPS speeds, had 3 guys and a cooler of beer in the boat.

Any suggestions on what RPM this should be turning? Or how to get to that level?

Bone stock, you should be around 3800-3900 wot. Could be as simple as the throttle handle position on the handle. Need more info. You should also try the GD 3 blade, it wont fix ya problem right now, but once ya get ya issues worked out, you'll be pleased with the performance difference.

This is a friends boat not mine.
The 3800-3900 is what I was thinking it should be.
He wants to switch to a 3 blade, but just bought the boat so it may be a hot minute before it happens.

The throttle stuck sometimes..

Probably the rev limiter... Since you say trim does not affect max rpms...

Lil screw just below the muffler - adjust your out of water rpms to about 4050....
Use a long screwdriver to avoid getting burned by the muffler....

That lil screw tends to vibrate and lower your rpms over time...

The 2 blade runs pretty good on that hull as does the 3 blade - I run the 2 in summer
when loads are lighter and runs are longer then the 3 during hunting season.... The 2 blade
is a bit faster with light loads and slings off the veggies a bit better too....

Loosen up on the screw going through that teflon stop. It will back the throttle stop back giving it more travel to get higher rpm's. Got mine at 4000.
