How much is your normal weight(or load), but i'd just go with a 35hp motor. then after that its up to you. IF you want options, research which brand suits your needs, and if it fits in your budgett. |

I knew some guys that ran 35 GDSD and PD's on a 16x48 southfork. I'd go with the 35 you will not regret it. |

ya like dogwallker, def go with the 35 unless its outta your budgett, or your running in nation wildlife refuges. its runs about 22 with me (140) and my fishing gear, 50lb tackle box and 4 poles. 2 ppl about 20 . 3 ppl midupper teens. what kinda hull is yours a mod v, semi flat, or flat? |

Just like what was said already I went with the 35 on my 1644 Southfork. I plan to get another (bigger) boat in the future so I bought a motor for that. |
