just found that my kill switch is not working but it was a while back. the conections look good and tight tho. anyone know how to trouble shoot this or what i need to try to get it working? do these usually go bad and stop working or is it most likely a bad connection? i run some bad stumps and i have to get it working.

thanks

are you talking terminal kill switch with the laynyard or your ignition switch?

I have seen the switches go bad and not allow it to start, but most of the time it goes bad and doesn't. Replace the switch. Call BoatDr Med, he will get it out quick.

the kill switch grounds out the ignition. when the switch is in place it opens the circuit, no ground. when pulled it closes the circuit and kills the ignition. ide check the switch to make sure it is moving when pulled. if its seems to be working, moving, i would trace the wires and make sure the lead in is connected to the ignition and the other is getting a good ground. the wire from the ignition should have a connector. you can ground it out at that point and it should shut the motor down. if not, something has come loose up in the ignition. if it does you can check the switch with an ohm metter. hook it up to the wires in and out of the switch and cycle the switch, you should see the circuit open and close. if not its the switch. of all that i listed ide bet its where the switch is grounded. either a broken wire or loss of ground. but if you try the above you will fine it.
