Post PD Squeeze throttle conversion - pic heavy
Finally satisfied with converted throttle setup, long runs are a breeze now. Disclaimer - I'm no pro, not a mechanic and just did what was right for me. May not be the best way to go, but I'm happy for now. Your mileage may vary.

A buddy threw me his leftover MB squeeze throttle, added that to the tiller extension and came up with a good setup for me. Also moved the stuff in the control box around for what made more sense to me.

Had to find the right spot on the cam to get the throttle throw fully activated, about 1/2 way in from orig PD throttle connection turned out to be about right. Made a spacer plate to hold the throttle cable securely at the cam. Return spring was added to bring the throttle consistently back to idle.
The extra crap on the throttle plate is gone. Not sure what is might have been there for, but didn't do anything so hasta la vista.

Had to move the choke since the cable was too short once the control box moved forward.

Also made a new finger to engage the governor when motor was at idle since after the original tab was bent to bring throttle to spec rpm's was too short to always capture the governor. It's kinda hard to see.

Also built a shroud to keep the rain off my K&N. The Outerwearz prefilter isn't waterproof. This mounted easily where the stock air filter used to be, comes off with one nut and a spring pin if needed.

I'm sure the twist throttle is the right answer for some folks, but it wasn't right for me. These changes have made things a lot sweeter for me, lots more practical now.
