Post Engine Dying off idle....
Not all of the time, but it kept happening this morning while I was hunting. It would die sometimes at idle, but if I engaged the clutch after a prolonged idle it would die immediately. I played with the air mixture screw on the water and it seemed to help. I then dialed in the air screw when I got home tonight. Seems it is best at 2 turns out. I am hunting again in the AM, so I am not sure if the same problem will materialize (it does not happen out of the water).

Why would a motor die when the clutch was engaged?

Any more than two turns out, I think you want to go to a bigger pilot. I'm not a guru, but what size do you have in there now? Do you have a larger one to try? If you are at two turns now, your right on the brink...

Choke isn't sticking? Float is adjusted properly? No air leaks? All I can think of, but that's some stuff to play with.

Cool thx man- pilot is a 25- no leaks- choke is good- float tab is adjusted. It just started today. I had the boat in a briggs repair center to check my heads, after a compression check set off a couple alarms...long story...I know he found a couple of screws in the intake that were tight, but not bottomed. He fixed those- so i am thinking I might have had a leak before and now that it is fixed, the sir mixture was off- this was just my thinking...but what do I know. I guess I will find out tomorrow.
