Post subject:  Engine Service Question

Hey guys, I've got a 35hp Mudbuddy that I am wanting to get serviced before summer. I'm located in southern middle TN and am looking for a good service center to take it to. Also looking at putting some dual exhausts on as well. Do they add any extra power or do I need to just go with a single stainless muffler. I guess my main question is where would ya'll recommend me taking my rig to get a service job. Don't mind a little drive, but not some day long trip. I just want it done right. Thanks for any help.

There's really nothing to it that you can't do yourself as far as routine maintenance goes. Just buy the belt tension tool from MB and get a feeler gauge at any auto parts store and that's pretty much all you need. The rest can be done with basic hand tools.

There are a lot of detailed posts on MB service on the MB forum.

If you must take it to a dealer, Mud Creek Marine in Fackler, Alabama would be pretty close. It is about 45 minutes from Chattanooga and less than 2 hours to Nashville. They are a good bunch of people.

DB told me once that he checks his valve clearance during every oil change.

Appreciate the help guys. I would usually try to do it all myself, but I bought this setup this past summer used, and I really just want it gone completely over and serviced by somebody that knows more about it than I do. :) I'm also thinking of the dual exhausts. Does that make any difference in performance? And being a K&N filter fan, do they make filters that will fit?
