Here' the skinny. Kohler command 25hp mud buddy longtail. Motor idles great and runs great for the first 3 or 4 mins then it looses power and you can hear an audible pah pah pah out of the exhaust. Replaced plugs and both coils thinking it was a firing issue but now I'm not sure. With the engine warm and running, you can pull either plug wire and 50% of the time it will kill the engine. With the engine warm, the exhaust temp coming out of the left head is roughly 500 degrees and the right side is 350. Any insight on what's going on or recommendations ?

Does that motor have the S.A.M. on it a little black box mounted on the number 1 side on the plastic cover? And if u own a timing light i can explain to u how to check the sam!!! and did u set the air gap on the new coils ? just give me ur email and i will send u a file on how to check all ur elecrtrical system!!!!

Got 150 in both cylinders.

Check ur valve push rods see if they are bent. It's a weird thought I know

Sounds like coils to me...Or sam module. Only causes problem once it's hot right?

Coils have been replaced and yep, only when it is hot.

Everything has checked out good until we did a leak down check on the cylinder. Going to pull it tomorrow and go from there.

Well what did the leak down test tell u?

Found the compression check to be good but the cylinder would leak down. Took the cylinder off and found a stuck lifter. Put it back together and everything seems to be running fine.[url][/url]
