 Blown Clutch
I was running about 7 miles from the ramp when my fuse blew. I put another fuse and that one blew. So I knew I had a problem. Just to get back to the ramp I hard wired the fuse. I had to go 7 miles. I only got 1/4 mile and blew my clutch up. Looked at it yesterday and it is gone. I know how to replace the clutch thats not the problem. I am trying to figure out what caused the fuse to keep burning out and then blowing the clutch. Do i have a short? or is it something else. The engine runs great. Ideals and starts right up. The end of the story boat would not go into gear had to get picked up. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

 Re: Blowen Clutch
The MB clutch is protected by a self-resetting ckt breaker (no fuse). If you had a short it would trip the breaker and reset in a few seconds, if you hard wired it then there was no protection and it probably just fried. Go to the MB customer page and get the wiring diagram. Its pretty simple 12V to the ckt breaker, control wire to the clutch switch controlling power on the wire to the clutch. Depending on how old it is (you didn't mention) there have been some changes in the connector going to the clutch that had caused problems in the past.
I posted step by step on changing a MB clutch on the MB forum, lots of good product specific info there.
