Post Break in ...
My ability to "search" is at the moment limited to my newness to the site ... does anyone recommend any kind of break-in for the X36 PD? i.e., running at a certain RPM for a length of time ... or do you just turn the key and hammer it?

Breaking in my outboard (sold, thank God) was a ***** ...

Ask T-Boy at T-Boy's Lawn Service, Bait Shop, and International Airport; how he breaks in his lawn mowers.

personally i break in everything i buy, but that's me!!! On my new vanguard 35 for the first 10 hrs i would only stay at a set rpm for about 2mins and then idel for awhile and after about 10 mins let it cool down good !!! The reasonin behind this is to let the rings seat in good!!!! But as i said that's what I do!!!!

I broke my engine in good too. Just took it easy the first two hours and didn't put synthetic oil in it till I was at 40 hours just so that everything seats good. So try to run it in water only for a while so you don't strain the motor much and that'll be enough.

You'll be absolutely fine, just run it and don't worry about it. If there was a break in time the dealer that sold you the boat should tell you, if not run it
