Re: Photo of my cylinder combustion residue normal , you can buff it off with a scorch pad and a little carb cleaner. put the piston at top dead center first.

Re: Photo of my cylinder combustion residue I have the factory service manual for the Vanguards and it says that after 500 hours (might be less, don't remember exactly) to take off the heads and remove any carbon build up from the pistons. Are you running regular gas or premium?
