I've been tossing around the idea of selling my motor to buy a bd4500 but another option would be to mod my 29. I was thinking of going with a stock 35 carb, stage 1 evt heads and possibly a cam. I do have some questions about doing this though. Should I upgrade anything beyond what come with the stage one heads? If my understanding is correct, the evt stage one only has shimmed stock spring so I wouldn't think I would need to upgrade anything else. Also, is a cam even a good idea on a short stroke big block? One more thing for now, is there anyone shops around the Baton Rouge area who would do this work for me? BTW I'm not concerned with Erving the motor to anything over about 4100 and plan to prop and gear to insure that I don't, so high reving will not have to be considered when helping figure out exactly what parts I need.

493f cam, heads , #5 key and 35 carb will wake that 29 up. We can port you up an intake to match heads and put the carb on it. Give EVT a call if you are interested.

seems like the 29 would turn up more being that its a short stroke wouldnt it? i dont know just thinking someone told me that my 327 revs up more then the old 350's just shorter stroke motor right?

Ok that sounds good, Drake I'll get with you some time next week. What about reliability with that setup?

Bubby I am in the same boat you are...I have a 29 that I think I am going to try and get some more out of instead of buying another powerhead.
Let me know what you decide to do to yours and how it comes out. Looking at the aftermarket carb price I may stick to a 35 stock myself.
I dont think the 29 carb will cut it though. Mine runs #1 almost too lean and #2 perfect right now.
