unbolt heads remove heads and clean all old gasket material put on new gasket and bolt up new heads put in push rods and set valve lash I'm sure someone could go into a lot more detail but there is really no need. Changing your heads is very simple. |

From what I have about 1/4" past TDC, it sounds like if you set lashing at TDC on a Van. you will actually be setting lash while the compression release is engaged. |

Just received my Briggs repair manual. Wish i'd have had it when I installed my cam and heads. It's excellent, very detailed step by step instructions on everything one can think of doing to the engine. $20 plus shipping. Get you one. |

Lash should set when the valve is closed, past tdc or the YouTube way should work..... |

Just finished installing my new heads and tried it both ways, didn't notice a difference...... both held at .005.... |
