im looking at buying a used 2010 gator tail, it has 80 hours and has a hoss exhaust. He says it still has a 8 month warranty left on it. I was wondering should i be worried about an exhaust i keep on reading dont buy a motor that has been modified. and im driving 5 hours away to get it so i dont know anywhere to get a compression test but if something is wrong with it i can just take it to gator tail since it has a 8 month warranty left right? any imputs

Typically, an exhaust is not considerred a mod.

depends who did the mods. if done by gtr then your warranty is still covered. if you just have exhaust done, thats not usually considered a mod, like camo said. mods arent particularly a bad thing.

oh ok i understand. I've been reading all about the mud motors and having the hardest time eciding onwhat i was gonna buy. was a pro drive but it got sold and i found this motor on a 17x56 boat and trailer for bout 7500. So im tryin to jump on it if my bank will get me the loan.

just check it out good bro bc its nothing for someone to change out a tiny tach hence the hours start back at 0. although you can get 1000 hrs out of these motors easily given it was properly taken care of.

ya well its a 2010 motor so im pretty sure he hasnt changed out the tach, i mean that sounds bout right i guess 80 hours on a motor 2010

Does it void warranty?

I know it doesn't with MB, wouldn't think it would with anyone else either. Exhaust is one of the few things that can be done to a motor, that doesn't void a warranty.

ya i didnt think so im supposed to go pick up the boat thursday of next week so hopefully it will run good. Does anybody know about the triton boats also? its a 1756 triton aluminum
