I'm thinking of going the cheaper route and buying a used boat instead of a brand new one. How many hours on a motor is too many? |

It also depends how many mods the motor has , the more you hop it up the shorter the life. I had a Kohler v twin go 3200 hrs on my comercial mower but it was stock. |

A guy down here who works on them said he has seen a couple with 2000+ hours that were still in good shape. He also said that for every 100 hours on a mud motor, you can take off roughly 20% of the original value of the motor. Very general assumption of course. |

just make sure u know what to look for when u go check out a possible rig. Do some research and know what questions to ask depending on which brand motor u look at. Sent from my iPhone 5 |
