 Safty on mud buddy
Today I took my new boat out to play around and the main part of the lake was all blocked buy cat tail bogs so I found the easiest place to get through and went and made it and started motoring again and my motor died. The Kill switch fell off of it and I wasn't wearing it and some how it did not fall into the boat it fell into the lake and I could not see it or find it so I had to push pole back. Has this happened to any one else, and does any one know where I can get one or if mud buddy even sells them.
Thanks.

 Re: Safty on mud buddy
go to academy. they sell every kind of kill switch in a pack. Find the one that works and throw the rest away.

Happwned to me once with my longtail. Was in a bad storm and jumped to run to some cover and forgot it in my wrist...and it fell in the water. Disconnected the ground on the handle and motored back later.

 Re: Safty on mud buddy
Best advice I can give on this is to buy a new kill switch key that matches up with your kill switch and then get one for your dry box, also I keep one tied on to another life jacket in the boat so if you fall out the guy or gal riding with you can slap a new one in and come to your rescue if needed.

 Re: Safty on mud buddy
our local walmart sells just the lanyard. i also carry extras.we are all guilty of not always wearing them at times. all it takes is one time and i could be game over. also most guys have zip ties on their boats. just lift up on switch and tie a zip tie. between the switch and the switch button it will get u running again.

 Re: Safty on mud buddy
I have trouble remembering to hook it up, all the old outboards I've ran never had one.

 Re: Safty on mud buddy
If im just in clean water i dont wear my kill switch. I clip it around the back of the handle incase it gets pulled off it is still attached to the handle.

 Re: Safty on mud buddy
I keep a couple of these stashed in the boat, and although i have never had the misfortune of loosing a lanyard on the water, I have given more than one of these away to boaters that have. http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/store ... rd&Ntk=All
