 Re: MB Black Death 45
Just looking for any input from anyone who has them, how they run, speed guys are getting with their rigs, etc etc......
Why will it never work? I know guys who are running 35s on the 1751 excel and getting great performance as well someone running an 1851 with a 40 and loves it. Curious as to what you all think as I am upgrading from my longtail

 Re: MB Black Death 45
I'm running the 4500 BD on an 18x58 Uncle J hull. It runs great. I'm getting empty speeds around 30, and 28 or so with a 2 person fishing load.

 Re: MB Black Death 45
Got a 1751 F4 with mud buddy 35 with full bps internals and a marshmellow x. Bumped 33 with the lady icechest and me. Average is 31 give or take. Love the rig. Loaded it down 2day with the fam and a big icechest 2day at the beach house in oki. Averaged 24.6. It planed out and thats all I was worried bout and also drew some great attention

 Re: MB Black Death 45
My only suggestion would be to have the BD 4500 upgraded with a BPS cam, but then again, I'm a greedy bastard.

 Re: MB Black Death 45
I ran the equivalent of a BD4500 (built up from stock 35CDI) on 1851 F4 all last hunting season. Its a good strong motor and will push the boat very well. Added a BPS cam and got more load carrying speed- 29-30 with the family in the boat running a MB Big Blade prop with pitch added to control the top end RPM.

 Re: MB Black Death 45
I am running the BD 4500 w/excel 1854f4 and it runs great to me. Only had it a couple weeks now and gps'd once in open deep water and was running 28 with me 165 and my nephew 205.

 Re: MB Black Death 45
Depending on what your running make sure to get at the minium a .125 gauge hull or your just wasting your money

 Re: MB Black Death 45
I am running a MB BD 4500 on a GatorTrax 1750Huntdeck. Myself and empty boat, I am topping out at about 27 mph. Three men and a load about 24-25 mph. I have not complaints about the motor. The BPS cam would give you more speed under load, but you may be bumping the rev limiter too much with light loads.
I would expect that you would get a little faster speeds with the Excel because i believe it is a lighter hull.

 Re: MB Black Death 45
I started out w/ the 45 mag and loved the load carrying ability. The 45 + single mikuni = 5000 is the route I took for my use. Im known for carrying way to much shit in the boat. 4500 BD will be a good match.

 Re: MB Black Death 45
Another vote for the BD4500. Have had mine on a Tracker 1860 for a few weeks now and love it. 3 guys, ice chest, fishing gear was getting 28 in deep water (20' or so) and havent really had a chance to run it anywhere shallow yet but from what I understand I could see a little faster speed in shallows. So far it has performed well and I am happy.

 Re: MB Black Death 45
Ihttp://www.excelboats.net/F-86.htmlIf you are running a lot of stumps, check out Excels new F-86. It's 5086 aluminum. Much better for stumps. They are supposed to have it in an open hull and a mod V soon if that's your preference.

 Re: MB Black Death 45
not tryin to agrue or anything jus thought th gtrax had shorter sides and can b ordered without flotation would make the g trax lighter, but excel lists their weights and g trax doesnt so listen to DB8 and not the new guy
