Post Need help wiring a kill switch
i have a honda gx390 13hp clone and i have the motor finished and on the frame ready to go all i need is help on how to hook up the kill switch i have the kill switch installed on the tiller and it has 4 prongs coming off the back of the switch i just need to figure out where to connect the wires

ok, on the 4 prong switch you will have a normally open and a normally closed circuit. use a tester and find the normal open one. "that will be with clip installed". one side goes to ground, just ground it to the tiller. the other one you will tie into the terminal ground circuit. you will have a wire coming off the switch and it will connect to the low oil and the engine level sensor "mercury switch". splice into this circuit. when you pull your cord it will ground the coils killing the engine. this is how the clone switches work- on is an open circuit, start is open and hot to starter solenoid, off is a closed circiut to the coil grounding it, killing the engine.

Here is a picture of my wiring harness, there is a wire coming from the block to the electric start housing. The kill wire is spliced into that.
