 Front fuel tank question
Couldn't find where anyone had asked about this. I haven't measured the exact size of my access hole up front but I'm pretty sure that I can't fit a 12g tank. I can fit 2-6g tho. My plan is to hook them together and run one line to the back or leave enough slack to switch tanks when one is empty. Main question is will I need a fuel pump to send the fuel the +/- 15ft to the motor? Or will the bubble pump up and keep the motor supplied with fuel? Input is appreciated. If there is already a thread about this, sorry but I didn't see it.
If I can make it 5-6 hrs on one tank I may just run one tank and if I am planning to ride all day having a gas can n the boat. What do y'all think?

 Front fuel tank question
No e pump. It will go that far. If you have a water separator in the back fill the filter before you try to prime it.

 Re: Front fuel tank question
It shouldn't matter if I put a "T" between the tanks and run to the back should it? I have just never heard of anyone doing this.

 Re: Front fuel tank question
Ive done it and saw it done and for some reason it always seemed to suck one tank dry and suck air before the other tank. Never sucked evenly. I dont know why.

 Re: Front fuel tank question
Guess I will just leave slack and switch tanks when one runs low.
Anybody else have any thoughts? How many gallons per hr on average do u get? I searched this also and saw some between 3/4 and 1 1/2 gph. I know the load will dictate consumption. Just asking on average.

 Re: Front fuel tank question
Personally, I just run a 6 gal tank, & if we're gonna do a bunch of runnin around (let's just say 8 hrs for example) I either bring another full 6 gal tank, or just some in a can.
For Caddo run, we got there on Thurs afternoon & left Sun mornin. Spent a few hrs Thursday evening & nearly all day Fri & Sat on the water. I brought 2 full 6 gal tanks & 2 full 5 gal cans. I came home with about 3-4 gals left in 1 tank. Don't know if that'll help you or not, but there you go.

 Front fuel tank question
In my first boat I ran 2 6 gal tanks for a while. I had mine ran to a brass 3 way valve. That way I didn't gave to disconnect anything. Just point the valve handle to the other tank and go. Also made it easier to swap between tanks each trip. I would swap tanks every time I ran the boat so one tank wouldn't be old gas.

 Re: Front fuel tank question
2 things to think about..... 1. Why not put an electric pump on the transom and not worry about it? Alot of motors end up needing one over time anyway and you never have to pump a ball! 2. I run two tanks up front and like the fact I have to switch between them. I've been known to have three or four to many and forget to check the fuel. When one goes dry, I know its time to head the correct direction!!

 Re: Front fuel tank question
They make a low profile twelve gallon tank, that will fit.

 Re: Front fuel tank question
I am going to measur it when I get home today. I want to have the 12g tank but then again I don't want the extra weight. If I am just hunting or fishing I won't need the extra fuel. I can't make up my mind.

 Re: Front fuel tank question
I have an e-pump and water separator in the back. The pump is for back up and priming the system after the boat has been setting awhile. Normally there are two 12 gallon and one 9 gallon tanks strapped in the bow and I leave enough hose to swap tanks when one runs out. I also carry 2 or 3 five gallon cans to top off the bow tanks. I can put them wherever I need to balance the load. On long trips I strap down a 28 gallon tank back by the operator with an additional fuel line and quick connect teed into the water separator. In that 24 X 48 Alweld I average 3 gph or about 7 mpg. If I take a full load I can go where I usually don't see too many other hunters or fishermen. Once in awhile a Supercub on floats will drop in, but he has trouble in the narrow winding side streams.

 Re: Front fuel tank question
I have room for a 12g tank. Guess I will just get it and put the fuel I need n it unless I go riding!

The 12g tank fits perfect! Leaves just enough room for my troller batteries!
