 HELP! evt exhaust parts question
I have a evt exhaust on a 35 gatortail and the support [ u know the one in the middle that is banded on] one of the legs that helps give it support broke off. I called the guy that owns or use too own evt and he said the company in ohio that use to make parts for him might have some, but they didnt; does anyone know where i might find this part. Also on 2 of the allen screw holes where the pipes bolt to the engine the threads have been smoothed out, not sure if it was from vibration from losing the support or something the previous owner did.[ ive only had the motor a couple of months] any solutions? And last when i pulled the exhaust off they were no gaskets, should there be?

 Re: evt exhaust parts question
You'll more than likely have to get something fab'ed up.
Yes...you should of had gaskets there.

Re: HELP! evt exhaust parts question
On the bolts try getting some about 10 mm longer, the longer ones will catch more threads in the head and they don't have to be allen heads

Re: HELP! evt exhaust parts question
That bracket doesn't really factor into the strength of the muffler. I ran mine quite a while with out and had no problems. If it bothers you and you really want one, send me the dimensions and I'll make you a piece that will fit. It was explained to me that that piece is to keep the uprights from pulling during the welding process and has no bearing on the strength of the muffler.
THe stripped hole is more of a concern. Hopefully the longer bolt takes care of the problem.

Re: HELP! evt exhaust parts question
That bracket is the only thing that holds an evt exhaust on. The flanges loosely fit on. Without that bracket, u don't have a muffler back there.

Re: HELP! evt exhaust parts question
The old exhausts had fixed flanges, not slip on's.

Re: HELP! evt exhaust parts question
R u missing the 1" x 6" strap that connects the two mounting brackets together or one of the mounting brackets that bolts to the motor? Makes a big difference!

Re: HELP! evt exhaust parts question
When running it just keep an eye on it. I had the long brace break as well as one of the arms that bolt on to the back of the motor. With one of them broke you will start having more stress and vibration on the other.

Re: HELP! evt exhaust parts question
Im missing one of the supports that bolts to the motor. I ran it last nite and it seemed like it did ok with jus one support; and i think i figured out how i lost the support; last night that side of the exhaust was shooting a light flame and that whole side of the exhaust was cherry red; which caused me to shear the head off another bolt where the exhaust flange bolts to the motor. I was told that the valves may need adjusting; has anyone had this promblem?
