![]() I've been using Mobil 1 10w-30 in all of my motors, but with all the talk about rounding off lobes, I'm considering Amsoil or Rotella high zinc at next oil change. |

Been running the Penzoil or Quaker State - and chnging every 30 to 50 hours.... But next oil change I'm thinkin' real seriously about using the YamaLube made for 4 stroke outboards - cause it has salt water corrosion inhibitors and is comparably priced with normal premium oils..... But IMO frequent changing is likely the best plan - not oil brand choice.... |

I used to run Mobil 1 synthetic. Now i just use Pennzoil 10w30. Its just a lawn mower motor not a top fuel drag motor. |

Amsoil 4-Stroke 10w30 for Small Engines has been running my Kohler 27hp Skag lawnmower for years 1500+ hours with no issues and no oil consumption. Russ |

My 13 year old mower has a 16hp vanguard. I run Castrol HD 30w. I mow 2.5 acres and it still runs like new. I use Mobil 1 EP 5w30 in my Mudbuddy 35(stock motor). Personally I think the worst synthetic oil will out perform the best conventional oils, but with that said is more important to keep the oil clean. Cost of oil shouldn't be an issue. It only needs 2 quarts. If you use Convetional oil, definitley go with Castrol GTX. If you go synthetic a 5w30 will cover more tempeture extremes. If it was more readily available amsoil for 4 strokes would be a great choice. |
