Post Bigger exhaust valves. Worth the $?
Are the set of stainless valves worth the money. I'm sure it would help but are they really worth 400 bucks like on the mudbuddy site? And why can't I just replace the exhaust valves with stock intake valves to enlarge them.

Check out the mudbuddy site. I'd love to find some valves that cheap

Pretty sure they're 110 bucks for a set of 4 from bps. If not, performance v twins has the manley's (i believe the same that bps uses) for 35 bucks a piece. EVT has ferrea's for 240 a set.

Are they worth $110? Definitely. Are they worth $400? Not to me.

The question to ask is: what is getting rid of the stock valves and their chronic leaking seats worth?

You have to also factor in the cost installation of the valves/seats. I agree with Camo

You know a lot more about the air flow in these engines than I do. I was just saying that I had been told the same thing that Mitch was told, by the same person. I know Al has been around for a long time and trusted what he was telling me, but I'm not knockin' what you are saying either.

My gen is a big bore motor. It has 39 mm intake valves and seats and a 32mm exhaust valve and seat. These are bigger than the Briggs intake and half a mm smaller than the exhaust. Both the gen and Briggs have been on the flow bench. Gen lows better on intake and Briggs on the exhaust. We had to increase the gen exhaust valve and seat and weld up the outside of the exhaust port to increase the port size and it still will not flow better than the Briggs. We are going to attempt to open the port some more and see what happens. The ports make these little motors flow. Now I have not seen a Briggs yet that pulls like the gen out of the hole and through mid range. Just a little lazy on top.
