can you use stock rods with the evt pistons (standard bore flat tops)

As long as the wrist pin diameter is the same. Get with mike or silk to verify.

ight do you know how much compression i could expect with those pistons and .60 heads

Prolly too much! lol

Are you shaving the stock pistons or purchasing an aftermarket flat top? If shaving the stockers, I believe you'll want the longer rods.

If your going through all that work, why not go big bore? I have a feeling craig could steer you in the right direction if you want to go that route. I think you'd want to go back to stock heads though.

Is your timing advanced!! Bro if I was you I would stay with the stock pistons

but they are flat tops which gives you more compression right?

Post subject:  Re: evt pistons

i was under the impressin that these pistons were flat tops and the rist pins were raised ie giving it more compression

You will be over 200 psi on compression with those pistons. Deck height was raised with those pistons along with removing the dish. Fastest motor I built had those pistons with .030" decked heads. 1854 GTB ran 40.6 mph.

so in other words it probably wont last to long with heads shaved .050

Don't run every where at 5 grand and it may last a little while.

Post subject:  Re: evt pistons

I'm just confused I have a stage one but want more and anything more is going to blow up. There must be something that will give you more and will be half ass "safe"

I understand you have to pay to play but Im not going to waste my money on something I know for a fact will blow up in ten hours

Look at a race car motor. They make bIG power, but they either blow em up once in a while or tear em down after a few races and then fix stuff before it blows. Regardless its alot of coin to play with.

What are you looking to do? Carry more weight or go fast? You want more speed then build a boat and prop for the motor you have.
