While I was down there a couple weeks ago, I had Brother fab up a carb cover for my engine. After some bending and cutting, here is what he came up with. He cut a radius around the fan and attached it to the screws which hold the fan guard on. It can easily be cut to shape for personal preference. The pics are from my cell phone so they arent the best quality.

I just ordered the carb. kit today, mainly because i lost everything except the metal backing plate day before yesterday and thats only because its bolted to the carb.!! :( filter, metal disk, platic cover, and both nuts all fell into the drink. Can't see buyin replacement parts and having to ride around with a bungee cord just to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I was thinking of the exact same thing you did Paul when i get it. Nice job! I have an idea for filter protection in reverse as well.

The cover is ok by the way, kind looks like one of those bicycle racing helmets. Bet Basinhunter has one.

Take that rev limiter off the motor and put it somewhere in the boat.

Hey BB, sounds like you steppin up a bit in power :)

You may wanna build that exhaust now to help that new carb flow better.

ifin you buyin a new prop you might as well the the Hopkins 12x14 for the rpm and sand... Good luck and I'll come see what ya done when I come down.
