 Problem
I have a Gator Tail 35. I was having some issues with my idol. Finally got it resolved which was i needed a valve job. I am now idoling great, however about a week after the valve job i was running and killed my engine. Went to crank it up again and it wouldnt turn over. Ended up getting towed in and the next day decided to check the spark plugs. They were full of black residue. So i changed the plugs and it started up instantly. So i decided to run it a little bit before teal season. I then noticed that my motor is smoking a little bit, checked my spark plugs and noticed they are getting more black residue on them. Motor is running good now, but i feel like it is only a matter of time before these plugs go. Any Ideas???

Sounds like you're running too rich. Lean it out a lil bit.

Also check your valve lash.
