Post 20hp Kohlor not getting gas
I have a 20hp Kohlor that for some reason doesn't get gas good. You can run at any speed when its not under load or out of the water and it will do fine. But once your in the water you can idle and go just a little faster than that, but once you get half way or all the way i have to keep squeezing the Primer Bulb to keep it running. I have already changed the plugs and got a brand new carb. and gas line but that didnt seem to do it. i have moved the gas tank on the seat to get it closer to the engine and it helped a little but i was wondering if yall had any ideas? Or have had the same thing happen and know how to fix it.

A couple of things you likely have done but need to be asked. Is the vent on the gas tank open? Did you replace the fuel filter and air filter also? I also figure you used a new carb to intake gasket. Just a few things that need to be cecked if they haven't already.

And yes we got a new carb and all the gaskets new and new air filter all at the same time and a tune up kit.

Only time my old 23 go devil did something like that, one side of the carb was dirty. One carb, 2 throats. One per cylinder. One side had trash and it would rev up out of water. Soon as I would load it down, one side would get no gas and it ran on one cylinder.

In the tank - on most portable tanks is a baby fine metal screen over
the pickup foot - if you remove and gently reverse flow some compressed
air to free it of any debris - and also dump out the tank to make sure there
is no water or crud in there.....

Saw this once - cause we were in the field and the man's GD rig had a big
water seperator and also the smaller fuel filter on the side of the engine - we
simply fully removed the lil screen.....

Then everything ran just fine....

We also cut away his primer bulb and end fittings - then reused the existing
hose clamps at the same time to be sure it wasn't an air leak - but we found
so much crap on the lil screen --- we were pretty sure it was the culprit....

I have just gotten a fuel pump not to long before i got all the other stuff to make sure that wasn't it first so that is pretty much brand new.
What kind of fuel line are yall using I just have one for like a normal boat and cut off the end to attach to the motor. i have already bought a whole new hose and everything so thats not bad but the line itself is a little bit big but i didnt know what to do and what everyone else is doing and i think that might be whats wrong... I hope by now it is. do yall use electric pumps in between? or just what i have what i have? Im looking at some ideas for this to make sure its right.

Several have posted fuel delivery problems with
the larger diameter gas lines.... Go 3/8" or less
without a plastic inner liner... I just bought 20 feet
of fuel line at the auto parts and ran it to my tank
at the bow with the bulb behind my water seperator
which is transom mounted....

Well i got a new gas line today that was 5/16" today from auto zone and took off my quick connects and put it all on and took my boat out and it ran like a dream! I ran all out for over ten minutes or more without any problems and ran for half a hour with no problems at all... at one point it acted like it was about to start acting up for like half a second but went back to running great.
So it looks like going from 3/8" plastic liner to 5/16" without made the difference... Thanks Ginafowl for that.
Just thought i would put my results on here in case anyone else has the same problem.
Thanks guys for the help im back on the water and it feels good...
