E-pump on switch instead of accessory wire?
So I currently have my e-pump on the accessory wire coming from the motor on a 23 GTR, but i started to think about whether one could have it rigged to a switch instead. Would there be any benefit? Also, I have a lil 6.5 go devil and the built in tank has developed a small seep and I was thinking I could take it off and make it remote fuel by putting an e-pump in line to wherever the built in tank hooks up and put it on a switch? I would flip the switch to "prime" the line and leave it running. Would that work? Would it force too much fuel into the carb?

Mine is set up like this, if you get a 1.5-3lb pump itll work great Faucet makes a good pump. I flip my switch whenever i need to fill the line and thats it

Re: E-pump on switch instead of accessory wire?
Only thing about not running it off of the accessory switch is that something or someone can inadvertantly hit the switch & not know it. Then your pumps running non stop until the battery dies, the pump burns up, or the next time you take the boat out. Not saying it won't work like yall are talkin about, I just preferred being able to kill the power to the switch also. What I'd done was like yall are talkin about, but my hot wire for the switch came off the accessory pole on the ignition.

Re: E-pump on switch instead of accessory wire?
thanks take'em, I think I'm gonna change over to this because for some reason I don't like the idea that the pump is constantly forcing gas that may be more than the engine demands. I was just wondering if this harms the motor at all? TC, that's a great idea, combine both approaches. That's what I'll probably do.

the easiest way is the way i did it. put a pressure regulator between the pump and carb, and the pressurized fuel isnat at the carb unless it needs it. i run it at 4.5 psi

That 6.5 hp will flood out with a e pump. It is gravity fed from the tank.
