Im pretty sure im going to buy the evt carb kit from my friend tomorrow. Im just concerned as he said these carbs when in water and taking off from a dead stop, the throttle will have to be "rolled into" or it will kill. anyone else ever heard of this? also, he said lowest he could get it to sufficiently idle and not kill when engaged in gear was 1500prm (this is with a performance cam and aggressively decked heads.) what do your 35's w/ carbs idle at? |

Had a 45mm HSR on mine, engine had every trick in the book, would idle at 1050 engaged/under load.....and not die. |

Every carb is gonna have to be tweaked. The only issue i had with mine loading up when i engaged the clutch was because I didnt have the air mixture set right. Its an easy adjustment. Mine like RC said idles at 1050 and wont die or bog even if its in some thick stuff when you try and take off. |

I haven't had any problems like that with mine. I thought I read somewhere that problems related to take-off might be due to either the performance cam or the new intake. Not sure if this is true, might just need to be adjusted right. |

I run a 20x60 and 35 gdsd. The 45 did not help my hole shot, stock was just a little better. I tried both evt and mb intake, the mb had a better hole shot. tried both evt and the muddy buddy cross over exh. the cross over was better at bottom end ,evt a little stronger at top end. That was with the suppressor in the crossover. I went to "scaryfastraceing .com " The throttle plate did help on idle , hole shot and starting. Some of the evt kits came with 42 mm carbs ,they are better on hole shot, make sure what carb you have before you order. What helped my hole shot the most was head work. After stage one I pulled the heads and decked them and did a triple angle valve seat with a clean up of air ways. My stock heads had one bank that had no valve seal at all. You could see a ring of light on both sides , wd40 ran straight through. if you want to carry a load Stock cam, head work ,42 mm and bps cross over ,you will be good for 4200 rpm. If your hole shot is a little lacking play with gearing just a little. JD |
