Ive seen a few threads where it was mentioned the leaking case gasket was replaced under warranty. I saw one thread where I think the owner was just shipped a new gasket and another thread where the owner took his motor back to gator tail and had it replaced.

What exactly is paid for under warranty?

Should I contact Go Devil first, or go to my Briggs and Stratton dealer?

Looking for a good reason to install a cam before duck season.

I have a prodrive and had 50 hrs. on the motor, called Peck at the shop told him about it he told me to bring it in. dropped it off went offshore came back and it was completely fixed and sealed better then factory. didnt pay a dime it was all under warranty. those PD guys have great customer service as far as Ive seen Im impressed!

Talked to GoDevil and I can take it to either a Briggs and Stratton authorized repair center or to my dealer, if he is willing to work on the motor.

They did give me a new part number for the gasket and said to make sure they didn't install the old gasket.

The big questions is, should I put my stock carb and muffler back on the motor before taking it to their shop? Its a known issue that aftermarket parts are not causing so I am inclined to take it as is.

The B&S dealer said a B&S representative may have to come by the shop to authorize the repair.

Yes...engine mods will void the warranty!

I think the carb will void any warranty that is left.

Luckily I still have the old carb i can put back on, but guess I'll have to buy one of the stock mufflers from mb.

But then if they will only change the gasket and not throw the new cam on, I may just do it myself.

Buy a cam and a gasket and change it yourself!

Mine started leaking at 40 hours.

Stock mine lasted 75 hours, Since modded it lasted about 20 hours or so. Its just weeping a little oil out the side of the case and keeping it wet. Unless it starts puking oil out im not worried about it. They all do it.

I got 160 hours out of the gasket that was put in with mods. My last gtr, which was stock started leaking at 70 hours. I've been putting a torque wrench on it every so often, so I'm sure that helped prolong the life of my last gasket.

I find if you run these motors with light loads they lasted longer!! Running heavy loads and keeping motor under stress makes them leak alot faster!! I been averaging about 100 hrs on mine but i have alot more precautions done to my motor for that!!

I dont use my rig alot, but when I use it to go to the camp for a weekend, the fugger is full up.
