I have a Briggs 36hp PD, and while running full throttle (3850) the rpms will drop to 3600 then slowly recover and then drop again. If I pump my bulb it makes it run good for about 30 seconds.

What should I do?

Turn up your governor to 4200 OOW.

Is it cutting out and then you pump the primer bulb and it keeps running? Starving for fuel would cut out the motor, not drop the RPM slowly.

The rpms drop fast then recover slowly. If i pump bulb it recovers faster, and runs longer.

If you keep squeezing the bulb does it bog down or maintain running?

Probably have an air leak. That or your pump is bad, but more than likely just an air leak.

Thanks guys. I found one of my hose clamps really loose. I am hoping that's it.

Mine is doing the EXACT same thing. Put a new bulb, hose, check and rechecked connections. Mines an 08 so I'm gonna try replacing the little mech pump. But its doing exactly what yours is, no airbubbles though.

I may try going with the NAPA elect pump.
