 35 Vanguard Problems
Ran my motor on Saturday for at least and hour with no problems but Sunday morning when i cranked up my motor it was missing at idle. In an attempt to take off it the engine boged down and seems to be running at 50% or less. After listen to the motor run i noticed a click every now and then followed by the motor dying down just a tad. I figured it was a valve issue so i opened the valve cover and noticed that one of the push rods had sliped out so i inspected the rod and checked out that it was not bent and followed up by reinstalling and adjust the valves to .004. The motor is still running rough and the click noise is still happening every 15-20 sec. Any ideas.

 Re: 35 Vanguard Problems
pull your kill switch and valve covers. Tunr the engine over and watch to see if your rocker arms are moving full travel. Pay attention to the rocker that had the push rod fall out.
