Post Key Switch nut for a PD36
Anyone know where to get the screw on nut that secures the key switch to the box, on the outside of the switch?

Someone told me it is 20mm, does that sound right?

Thanks

I would just replace the switch. Auto part stores have them in the lawnmower section and they just plug right in, you would have a new nut, and the peace of mind knowing you have a new switch. just my .02

Thanks Auto, but I thought it was a Johnson Evinrude part #. I do need a spare so that will work.

if yours doesnt plug in, get a wiring diagram so you can know where to put each wire on the new switch

It's a Johnson/Evinrude product. PD sent me a new one and the prongs on the back were slightly different. I went online and got an Evinrude wiring diagram, then just matched the wires up.

You should be able to find that nut at any hardware store or go by an Evinrude dealership. I'm sure they have some lying around.

if it's the part i'm thinking (& the same for a gt), it's a vangaurd part & for my engine, it's reference # 664, part #691087, nut (key switch). this info is from: briggs & stratton illustrated parts list model series 613400 air cooled book (followed by dozes of engine type numbers). i got the book/pdf file online from briggs web site. i got a local small engine store to order it - something like 50 cents.
