 Starting issue with 25hp Kohler...Bad Mercury switch?

Post Starting issue with 25hp Kohler...Bad Mercury switch?
So we are having issues with starting out 25hp kohler long tail. I know it has to be level to start but it won't start. The started just clucks and the battery terminals gets REALLY hot. Is it possible for the mercury switch to go bad, And can I by-pass this? and where is it located?

Had that happen to mine. I bet your stator, coils and magnets are shot. My magnets broke all to pieces and I had the same problem. Not all that hard to fix. Take off the cover then pull the fly wheel.
