Post BPS crossover vs. Marshmellow Double X
Got a question for all you modders out there. I am currently running a stock 35 CDI on a 1854 extreme w/ center console. I always carry heavy loads and I can see the difference in performance compared to running lite. I don't want to go overboard with mods, so I was going with bolt on performance. Ie, Mikuni and exhaust. My question is which exhaust? BPS X-over or MM X, with or without baffles is another ? Tell me what you guys think so I won't be so far behind all of you with the truely bad ass motors.

I recommend the crossover with removable silencer. The longer primaries on these mufflers give the best performance out there.

BPS also offers a two to one exhaust similar to the crossover.

I think your money will be best spent with a new set of heads and exhaust. Your not gonna go wrong with either one of those mufflers. If you want a little more after that, then add a cam. You can buy heads and a cam for only 80$ more than you can buy the Mikuni, and its gonna help you a whole lot more.

Thats why you guys are the PRO's. Thanks for the replies. I was looking primarily looking for mods that I can do myself. But I think I am gonna get hooked on mods. I can order the carb, exhaust and heads at SETX. Would all these be good with the CDI motor. And if anyone needs a hunting trip to either PAC or the Atchafalaya delta, let me know. I am always willing to bring someone hunting and making new freinds.

Your money will be better spent with heads, exhaust, and cam. You can do all those yourself.

If you do IM heads, would you have to do heavy duty push rods, and roller rockers.

I am currently in Turkey making the needed money for the mods LOL. I do not get home until the beggining of November and I hope to have everything at the house waiting to be put on when I get home. I can say that I believe that we are going to have a good duck season this year. I am starting to itch like a quack head

I did Carb and Exhaust first. Some increase in speed and load carrying capacity. Did the heads a few weeks ago and look out. Thats probably the best increase I have noticed. Not sure about way you should go first but if these guys say heads and exhaust I would tend to agree and go that way before the carb.
