 pd help
motor ran like shit a few weeks ago and thought it was the carb so cleaned the carb out and put new plugs in.it turns out it was a wire between the coils that had rubbed raw from bad placement at the factory. so i thought i fixed it. now after using it several times, the most recent today, it died after running for a few minutes at wot and once we were stopped i could feel the heat rolling off it. It was hot as hell! so my question is could something in the carb have been put together wrong, causing it to run lean and overheating? If you have any other ideas let me know. and if my idea makes sense, where can i find a diagram of the carb assembly? thanks.

 Re: pd help
These are air cooled motors, its cooled by the fan forcing air over the heads. Stopping abruptly and feeling heat coming off it doesn't sound abnormal.
Did you change all your gaskets when you removed the carb? An intake leak can cause it to run lean, not much to the carb on these. If you have irratic idle, thats an indication of an intake leak.

 Re: pd help
Yeah it sputtered a bit and then died. and it was much warmer than usual and it was only run about 5 minutes. I didnt change the gaskets when i cleaned the carb but it idles perfectly and seems to run fine until it builds up heat. I'm wondering if i have everything put together the way it was on the carb before i tore into it. if anyone can give me a source for a diagram or dummy manual online id appreciate it.
