 Informational question..
I see a lot of these engines having hour meters on them. How many hours are you guys logging on these built engines before they are experiencing issues or needing gone through? Just looking for more infornation before I start saving to build something or buy one. Thanks.

 Re: Informational question..
I think a good gauge of longevity would be to review how often one has had to buy a new lawnmower. But I tend to take care of my GTR23 better than any lawnmower I ever had, so maybe they'll last a little longer. But I never modified a lawnmower so that may shorten the time.

 Re: Informational question..
I here ya on the stock units. I'm sure they last a long time with the right care. I'm more wondering on units like the mud buddy HD 7000 with all those custom parts and letting them turn 5000rpm's. I dont remember any factory lawnmowers turning those kinds r's.

 Re: Informational question..
There are MB45 mags (all internal BPS parts) with hundreds of hours on them. The difference with a 7000 is just the carbs and better heads. BPS makes a reliable recipe.

321hrs on my 45, a lil clutch problems but that's all. Engine never misses a beat.

 Re: Informational question..
I have a Skag Turf Tiger Zero Turn lawn mower with a 27 HP Kohler on it. It has over 1650 hours on it and still runs like a champ, no oil consumtion at all. It really all boils down to how well maintained the engine is, take care of it and it likely will take care of you.
