 Pro-drive props and exhaust
Can anyone tell me info on a Hopkins prop for a prodrive? Does it help the motor perform better?
Also, I nned a new muffler, but I would like to get a stainless or something else besides a stico muffler. Can I get some I ideas on this or is there a muffler out there that is better than the other?
Thanks for any assistance.

 Re: Pro-drive props and exhaust
Search feature works wonders. Lots of threads about hopkins props and lots of threads about exhausts.
An exhaust by itself isn't gonna do much for performance. I personally would recommend the stock prop for a stock motor. PD put a lot of R&D in to make a prop that works well with their engines. May look in to a hopkins if the motor was highly modded and you were turning too many rpm's.

 Re: Pro-drive props and exhaust
Guest I could of been a little more clear. I was looking for info on performance with the Hopkins prop compared to the stock prop. Thanks for the input guys. Any one else on the prop?
What about a stock muffler or stainless muffler, or something else that could possibly give a little help on performance?

 Re: Pro-drive props and exhaust
BPS and Marshmellow make stainless higher flow exhausts for the verticals. The exhaust by itself is just the base for performance improvements. The engine is an air pump - more air in / more air out. A higher flow exhaust helps with the second part.

 Re: Pro-drive props and exhaust
For a stock motor, keep the stock prop......
Like DB8 said, by itself the exhuast will not buy you any additional performance. Add either carb, heads, or cam and heads and it will really wake the motor up.

 Re: Pro-drive props and exhaust
PD prop is best on a stock motor. If they would make a 13 pitch prop I would have it on my motor instead of the Hopkins. PD has a very good prop.

 Re: Pro-drive props and exhaust
You can for sure get a Hopkin's Cleaver to perform better than the stock pd prop! You are going to have to get him to build it for your setup. You will not get it right the first try most of the time!

 Re: Pro-drive props and exhaust
I will stick to the stock prop and probably the marsh mellow exhaust. I mainly want it cause the stock muffler only lasts me 2 years. Most of my hunting is in salt marsh and rusts pretty quick. But would a cold air intake be the carb mod I would need to add with this exhaust.
