Post powertrim will only work while running
Title says it all, had the previous problem with it not moving just humming fixed (low fluid)

now the damn thing wont even hum while the engine is off im getting power all the way to the trim unit, but only way to get it to move or work is to turn the engine over and it will trim down but to get it up i have to rev the engine.

Anyone ever see this?

Check your connections at the switch?

Either bad connection at the switch or Bad switch. Similar thing happened to mine in less than 10 hours and it was the switch.

Mine is similar to a regular toggle switch on center console vs the rocker switch like on the tiller handle

Never checked with a meter. Mine would only work when it wanted to. It would go down most of the time just fine, but very rarely would go up.

It happened like second day of real season and I had an old rocker switch from a winch and hooked it up and it worked perfect. It's actually still on there right now.

I've seen a bad switch not let you move in one direction or the other, work intermittently but never only work with the engine running. Could be the switch or connection

traced everything, ended up pulling the electrical off the trim motor and found a broken spring like action that connects the armature to the electrical motor, put in another like spring and seems to be holding great. Thanks for all the input and help
