It will make your life miserable, make you swear like you never have, cause you to throw things, yet can be as easy to tame as simply buying a new battery and tightening your connections after having been towed in this morning. |

Racking in / out 480 volt, 4160 volt, and 13.8 kv breakers is fun too... Actually, it sucks |

Local mine had a guy killed racking over a 13.5 breaker in an environment with conductive atmosphere (taconite dust) flash over from the contacts opening up blew the cabinet up and him along with it. Gotta be careful with high voltage, in the right environment they can arc through open air over a pretty large distance, you dont even need to touch them. |

Back when I lived with my mom and dad, I had a horse in a stable about 300ft from the hoouse. Had a long cord going to the stable for light. The end of the cable only had 1 outlet and I needed more plugs. My dad had this plug brick that I was going to use. Being dumb I forgot to turn off the breaker or unplug the cord. Actually thought I had unplugged the cord. Binded down hard on the pliers and whack. Muscles tightened up and I couldn't let go of the pliers. Couldn't open my hand at all. Finally stepped on the cord and jerked my hand off. Felt like 10mins had passed by. Tingled for a while after. Bad thing is I didn't trip a breaker or nothing. Learned very fast that I don't like electricity. Now when doing something in the house I will double check breakers. If that isn't enough, I trip the main to the whole house. |

guy working round one of the local plants where i live got killed. its not the voltage that kills its the amps. takes only a couple of amps to kill a human. this unfortunate soul was on a scissor lift working near the power lines for the plant. somehow he came into contact with 70,000 amps. to put that in perspective, youre outside ac draws about 20 to 25 amps. |
