Well I searched and found another post with similar issues but, I have no idea what they are talking about so I need someone to dumb it down. I have a 35hp with the M carb, cross over exhaust, and had the valves seated and heads ported, polished, and decked. All be SETX. The motor sounds great and ran awesome. I then put the BPS throttle and cable along with a smaller bottom gear to keep from tapping out the rev limiter. Boat ran great. Now it sounds good out of the water but when I have it under load I only get half throttle with 3200 RPMs if I give it more throttle it sounds like its drowning out. I recently dumped what i think was old/ bad fuel and changed the fuel filter out. the filter had a large chamber so I think maybe it the motor was taking the fuel and the pump was unable to keep up and possibly starving the motor... I have since pul another narrow chamber filter on. My question is is there anything else I should be looking at? I tried adjuster the silver screw and cable on the water but it didnt change anything. I know there are other adjustable screws but I dont know what they are or what they do. I have a rev limiter and it does kick in at 4500 ootw. I also noticed that when I kill the motor fuel comes out of the overflow hose and in the water, is that normal? When ootw the water if I trim all the way down with the motor running fuel will run out of the overflow hose... Im going to run the boat in the morning so any pointers before then would be great. I also put some marine stabil in the tank and have the motor running now to cycle some through it. never used it before. I use super unleaded fuel only. I have been unable to reach Chops to ask him what he thinks(sure its because of the holidays) and he put this stuff on so I dont have any instructions or manuals. Thanks guys |

I also have noticed that my RPMs arent wanting to drop down all the way when I left off the trottle. sometimes it sticks |

My cable was sticking with a brand new cable from BPS. I took the adjustment screw apart and found that one stran of the cable was broken and hanging up. Might be something to look at. |

well I took the carb off and the drain plug had a little junk or rust in it. Unfortunately the screws wont break loose for me to take the whole bowl off to look at the float and jets. Any sugestions? |

Well I tore down the carb and cleaned it up real good. you can see in the pic there was some trash in it. I did pull the needle and seat and cleaned it as well. Unfortunately the overflow still has a stream coming out of it whn the motor is trimmed all the way down, thats the only time it does it. I havent messed with the float level yet but, is there anything else it could be? looked like there was some varnish in the needle seat but its not wanting to come off without scrapping it and I dont want to scar it. Also I changed the fuel filter again and Im still getting pieces of rubber in the chamber, the fuel breaks down the rubber? I guess I need to change my lines as well. I was able to get the bowl screws out with a dremel tool. Any help? Thanks |

I havent been no. Started buying at race trac because it was cheaper than the place that had ethanol free fuel |

My motor always dumps fuel if trimmed all the way down and left idling. |

Motor ran like a bat outta hell the other day so I wont be messing with anything. I went ahead and changed the fuel line and water/ fuel seperator filter, it had garbage in it also and hadnt been on long. Thanks to all for your posts. |

My carb did pop out three times while running in chop though and it hadnt done that before. So for the bracket that they sell here on MMT do you have to do any drilling or modifications to the intake to use it? Anyone have any feedback on it? |

 I'm pretty sure autogateman knows a lil bit about em. I've been running mine for around 60-70 hrs now & recommend it to everyone with a Mikuni. No cutting or drilling required, but will need a set of ball tipped allen wrenches. Sent by carrier pigeon. |
