This morning while hunting my motor ran great going to my hunting spot. After hunting I started up the motor and idled out of the cove. Whenever I gave it gas the motor would rev up to about 3200 rpm then bogg down to 2100. Usually my motor runs around 4200. I ran through some grass. Got all the grass from around the prop. Not sure what happened. |

It is a 2006 model Vanguard motor. 155 hrs |

Typically when a motor is bogging, it is a fuel related issue..........fuel restriction, sucking air/loose connection, bad fuel pump, or contaminated gas/contaminated carburetor. |

Is that an easy fix for the exhaust valve push rod? And how would u determine that? |

Thanks everyone ... I'm going to check on the fuel and sparks plugs and check the basics first then go from there ... It runs fine out of water and revs up good it's just once it's under load when the prop hits the water ... Ran good to the blind but going back it was lagging ... Hope it's an easy fix |

So I took the boat out again and of course it started bogging down ... But after running it for a bit all of a sudden it reved up and ran like a champ ... I had just put supreme gas in the tank and that's all ... Not sure but guess it was bad fuel .. Still going to change the fluids and spark plugs and clean the carburetors for good measure ... Thanks for the help guys |
