So I resently bought a 06 GTR 35 H.P. from a buddy of mine it has only 100 hrs. on it. Its on a 18 ft go devil boat it a center consol. Wondering what mods yall think would best suit the combo. He says its runs 22mph at WOT. Im waiting to get it from him to do a few test with the RPMs.

Get rid of that godevil boat and get a GatorTail boat and you will be much happier ;)

Check prop 4 sure. 100 hours is plenty 4 a prop to b shot. Wut transom angle do GD boats have? Mite consider wedges 2 make the most out of your setup. Heads and exhaust will make the engine better. U can spend the extra on a carb later if u think u need that headache.

4250 OUT of the water/ neutral rpms. In the water empty you should see 3800-3900 trimmed right.

Keep trimming up till u start loosing speed then trim down a lil and that'll be ur sweet spot. Also I run my motor just to where I can see the lower bushing just a lil out the water

What is your neutral RPMS. Hold the throttle Wide open. The motor will surge and bounce off the governor. Read the tach and report back. If its below 4250 turn the Governor screw until you get 4250 in neutral then go run the boat again. When you drive trim up tuntil you hear the "Prop whine" then back it off till it just goes away... Thats usually the sweet spot. What are your RPMS there?

This pic shows where the adjustment is for the governor. Thank Deadbird8 for the great illustration.

Let us know how that worked. The idles screw in the front is for minute adjustment, the tab controls most of it.. Heck my spring broke off the governed idle tab and it stays put about 1200 ish. I guess ill let it ride lol.

check if you can push the throttle slide back with your hand, if when you push it back and it stays at low idle where its supposed to be then soke it down with some sort af lubricant.

Post subject:  Re: 06 35 GTR

the throttle slide could be sticking with the extra tension on it.
