Post subject: | possible solenoid problem? |
I have a 9hp Honda engine on a go devil frame. I was driving my boat the other night and saw a spark come from down near the solenoid/ starter area. Immediately after that my engine would not start with the electric start, wouldn't even click. I can start it if i trip the solenoid with a screwdriver or use the pull start of course. I replaced the solenoid and can still do the same but cannot start the engine with a key. Any suggestions? Also is it possible I am using to powerful of a battery? I am using a deep cycle battery from my old outboard engine but it is a pretty new battery. |

Sounds like either a ignition bad wire or bad solenoid. |

Just retread your post. If your current solenoid isn't bad its an ignition problem. Check and make sure all the wires are still hooked up in the back of the ignition(were you put the key) Sent via telegraph |
