Not sure what you mean by oil coming out of the top of your exhaust, but it sounds like waay too much oil or bad rings. I'd have a leak down test done.

Bad rings doesn't necessarily mean it's done. New rings are probably 20 bucks. If you need to go to a larger piston, they should sell a .020 over stock piston and the cylinder work should not be very much if you tear the motor down yourself. If you do the work yourself, it would not be very expensive to rebuild at all. It's not very hard to do, there is not much to these lil motors.

Could be something simple like the reed valves if your engine has them. They could be letting more oil blow by than they're supposed to. Start with checking your oil level, if it's good, have a leak down test done and report back. We'll go from there.

There are 4 bolts on the top of my exhaust and the oil is slowly leaking out, the oil in the engine seems to be a little low now

Can you post a pic? I'm not really familiar with that engine. Is it possible the oil is leaking from somewhere else and dripping on the exhaust not coming from the exhaust?

Def looks like it's coming from in through the exhaust. See if you can get to a small engine shop and have a leak down done if you don't have a way to do it at the house. Should not be very expensive. Wouldn't have them do any other work, just try to figure out how bad its leaking (if it is) and where the leak is at. I'm still thinking bad rings, but wouldn't start tearing in to it until you have a leak down done. That way you'll have a good idea what to look for when you crack it open.

Maybe someone else will chime in with a better idea, but that's what I would do for now.

Hey, at least that will slow down the rusting of your muffler. :D

I took it to a mechanic and he seems to think the cold weather and the oil being overfilled made it leak, he took out the spark plug and let it blow out then the leak stopped

Too much oil could def cause that as long with a mess of other problems. Hopefully that's it and you are back to normal now.
