Was looking into putting a carb kit on my gtr 35.I have a marsh mellow exhaust on my motor now. What kit should I get and how much performance will I gain with? Thanks |

I went from single MM exhaust (original style) to MM with no restrictions dual outlet.... When I put my Mikuni on, I said screw it for a few bucks more I can really wake up the engine & tossed in a cam. Then added RR, did my valves & port & polished my stock heads slowly after a month or so. Well, I did my heads, mikuni & CAM all at once... then the rest after a month. Cody over at SETX did all my work. Mikuni will make your motor run smoother and more reliable easier to fine tune I noticed. Easy adjustment of idle without the need of a screwdriver etc. In terms of speed increase if any I would have no clue because that varies too much. My guess would be 1-2 MPH? Now I have also heard others running stock carb & doing the mods listed above and still running good speeds etc. I think most people want to get the most of their engine without jeopardizing its reliability. I think by staying where I am at now you can get that. I am no mechanic and others are much more experienced with these motors so wait for the experts to chime in. |
