Called last week and filed. Tired of waiting around on people who could care less about their customers. Have yet to get any response from Beavertail what so ever. I'll be tearing down my chassis next week and getting a look at the bearing. |

Sounds like this is the norm coming from BT. Other guys on MMT have been having the same issue with there customer service. I live close to BT and linked up with there sales Rep Rick Alsen and checked out there products. Some of the products are good and some people swear by them, but not impressed at all with the sales Rep. And will be making a drive to get a Gator Tail Xtreme over the BT. Hopefully that now you have filed it will lite a fire under there ass. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=25224 |

The BBB wont let you erase complaints, no matter how much $$$ you throw at them. |

BBB worked! I was contacted by Beavertail. However apparently since I bought my motor at a clearance price, there is no warranty. I did not see that coming. But in all fairness it is stated in their warranty policy. However the person I'm dealing with said he would be available for me to call on Wednesday when I can get to the motor to tear open and diagnose the issue. He also stated that he would supply any neeed parts at cost. Overall not what I expected, but a resolution none the less. I'll post again on Wednesday's interaction. |

That whole situation is bull shit! If you buy something on sale you don't get a warranty WTF! If that was the case they should have told you that before the purchase. I think I would push a little harder on the issue and see if they give in. |

Problem found! Beavertail apparently thought about their belts enough to have an adjustable tension pulley. However they did not think about saltwater enough to ensure their cases were sealed properly, say with a gasket. The housing was filling with water and the salt completely locked up the shaft on the tension pulley. The belt then ate the pulley. Easy fix. Except you have to get the pulley from Beavertail. So I'll be sitting out the closing weekend as I await my shipment of parts from the manufacurer. On a side note, Beavertail did not offer a warranty because the unit was bought on clearance, and did not replace any parts for free even though the issue is that their case was not water tight, however they did send me parts at cost and pay the shipping. |
