Thinking of ordering a GTR 35 straight from the factory and installing myself. Any advice? Is it easy --the online instruction manual seems like it's as simple as slappin it on the back and tightening it down? Hard? Special tools needed (engine hoist)? Engine tuning required?

Any videos/pics or lessons learned appreciated too.

Thanks!

First of all congrats on choosing a great motor, you can install it yourself if you'd like, an engine hoist would definitely be a plus or chain fall. The motor comes with a mounting bracket with 2 bolts that tighten it to the transom. There are two holes drilled into the mounting bracket so once you get the motor where u want it on the transom u drill those 2 holes and bolt it securely to the transom. Other than that hook p positive and negative, fuel line and have fun. Make sure motor has oil in it before operation. Shaft is pregreased and also the reverse transmission already should have oil but I would double check.

One other thing ur cheeks may hurt afterwards from smiling so big once you r able to release the throttle, these things are addicting
