 Kohler 27 CDI?
Any of ya'll know if Kohler gottem yet? Can you get difernt coils wit CDI for da 27? Found dis link but aint sure if these are what a guy would need....... http://www.kohler-engine-parts.opeengin ... -cdi-fixed

I'm fairly certain that your motor is a "CDI". If you have a smart spark module, that's what that is or that's what controls the coils anyway. It's the little black box thats screwed to the heat shield on the side of the motor. Their motors have been equipped with this for quite a long time, it just wasn't marketed like the briggs.
If you want to spend some money, go EFI! That's what's new and the EFI engines are built on the same block so the parts should be interchangeable. Likely not cheap though.
