does anyone know anything about these motors. i have a lil 12ft boat and wanted the 10 or or 18 HP Are they reliable motors and hows the power on um |

Make sure they've improved the shaft and seals |

the seals hes refering to were used in the first few 12hp models. There is now and has been a weed gaurd that protects the seals and bearings from vegitation wrapping around the prop shaft inbetween the prop and prop shaft housing. Not one failure on the new design. |

A friend of mine had a 10 hp and it was a bad ass lil motor untill you hit sand or weeds and there goes the seals. He brought it to the shop 2 maybe 3 times and was suppose to be fixed the new way but still messed up |

its a 12 by 48 rivit boat so its very lite. i think im guna go with the copperhead 12hp. i plan on hunting catahoula and saline alott. i also have land at lake darbonne and a camp at sherbune. mostly lake that im running and not marsh |

Thats gonna be a sweet lil setup, the smaller sd's perform very well on wider bottom boats while loaded. |
